Workstation VM's on ESXI or under Nest Hyper V?

First Post.

So I know there is possibly an answer for this all ready somewhere on the board, but I had a really hard time finding a clear answer.

I plan to set up a Vspherehypervisor on a little i5 32gb bare machine as a little home lab, from there I want to put Windows Server 2012 r2 again for testing.

My question is this, if I want to spin up 2-3 small Win 7 VM work stations, does it make more sense/better performance to run them directly on Vsphere or should I nest them inside the virtualized Windows 2012 r2 server?

I think I read that Hyper V does not perform greatly as a Virtual hyper visior but is this also true of VM's under it (I'm sure it does maybe stupid question just figured Id ask). What about administration? What do I gain placing the VM's under win 2012 as opposed to ESXI?

Side note, will VM's created onVmware Workstation transfer over nicely to Vsphere and ESXI?
